Work in an open-plan office and conversations 10 feet away were destroying my focus. The XM5 ANC drops them to a faint whisper. Combined with LDAC for music, I am in my own world during deep work sessions. Game changer.

Had the XM4 before. The XM5 is meaningfully better: lighter, sharper ANC, better mic for calls. Battery indicator in the app is precise. Comfort for 8+ hour days is the killer feature. Sony stepping up their game vs Bose.

Better than AirPods Max for the price
Tried AirPods Max — heavier, more expensive, similar ANC. Returned them and bought these XM5s. Lighter, better battery, multipoint Bluetooth that actually works. The Sony app lets me tune the EQ per ear. Crown jewel of my work setup.

Yes they cost $290. But you get genuinely industry-leading ANC, 30-hour battery, LDAC support, and Sony build quality. Comfortable for full-day wear. Mic is great for Zoom calls. If you can swing the price, these are the headphones to get.
